European Leaders Decry US Move as ‘Intimidation’
European leaders such as the French president charged the US administration of “coercion and intimidation”, after the travel bans were placed on figures that were central to campaigns to introduce legislation regulating US-based technology firms.
“For too long, ideologues in Europe have led coordinated campaigns to coerce American platforms to suppress US perspectives they disagree with,” stated the US secretary of state online. “This government will no longer tolerate these egregious acts of censorship beyond its borders.”
